Build a squad that travels
You can win Drafted with luck, but you'll win more often with a plan. Here's how to think about the draft, the difficulty modes and Prime Mode.
Approach the draft with a spine in mind
The temptation is to chase superstars for every slot, but tournaments are won through the middle of the pitch. A reliable goalkeeper, a settled centre-back pairing and a midfielder who can dictate tempo will carry you deeper than a mismatched collection of famous names. Decide your formation first, then draft to reinforce the spine it depends on before you gamble on flair in the wide areas.
Spend re-spins like they’re your last
Re-spins are your only safety net during the draft, and they are finite. Don’t burn one just because a pull isn’t a household name — a solid, in-position player is almost always better than an empty slot or a star shoved into the wrong role. Save your re-spins for the moments that really hurt: a weak goalkeeper, or a key attacking slot that comes up short.
Pick a difficulty that suits you
Difficulty changes how much the game holds your hand during the draft. The modes on offer are:
- Easy — 3 re-spins available.
- Normal — 1 re-spin available.
- Hard — No re-spins · ratings hidden.
If you’re learning the game, start on the most forgiving setting so you can see ratings and correct unlucky pulls. Once you’re comfortable, the hardest mode — no re-spins and hidden ratings — turns the draft into a genuine test of squad-building instinct.
Consider Prime Mode
Prime Mode reimagines every player at the absolute peak of their real career rather than in a single specific season. It’s the way to build an all-time dream team where the legends arrive at their very best — hugely fun, and a great way to see just how far a stacked XI can go. Combine it with a tougher difficulty for the ultimate challenge.
Manage the tournament, not just the match
Your managermatters more than it looks: the right signature trait can tilt the games where runs are usually won or lost — the tight knockout ties, the matches against favourites and the shootouts. When you’re ready to put it all together, walk through a full run on the how to play page, then head to the draft and take your shot.
