These are the teams a new player recognises without needing the history, which makes this the most approachable pool in the game and the one where your own opinion of a player is most likely to differ from his rating.

Among the squads you can land on: Manchester City 2022-23, Liverpool 2024-25 and Paris Saint-Germain 2024-25.

This pool is the playable half of a decade. The 2020s era page covers the same squads as a reference — every side, what each won, and the clubs and countries the decade belonged to.

How it drafts

The smallest pool in the game, and a strong one — eleven players rated 90 or above across just nine squads, and it scores above the full database rather than below it — its XIs are the most evenly matched in the game, so they lose least to weak links. The short wheel is the real character of it: the same squads keep coming round, so you learn where the good players are faster here than anywhere else, and a run turns on whether the two or three you were waiting for land before the slots they fit are gone.

The wheel only ever serves squads from this pool, so all 9 of them come up often enough to matter — the whole point of narrowing it. The strongest player you can land on is Erling Haaland (95), and the best XI the pool could theoretically assemble averages 91.5. You will not get that XI: you get whatever the wheel gives you, one squad at a time, and you have to build around it.
