The club, season by season

The 1993-94 team won the club's first Double, with Cantona in the season that changed what people expected of it and Schmeichel behind a defence that conceded 38 league goals. Five years later came the treble, decided in stoppage time in Barcelona. Then the late Ferguson sides: the 2007-08 winners with Cristiano Ronaldo at 94, and the 2008-09 team that went back to the final and lost it to Barcelona. It is the most concentrated club run in the database — three of the four squads inside sixteen seasons.

In the draft

Giggs appears in all four squads, fifteen seasons apart, and Scholes in three — the sort of thing only this club produces. The 2007-08 and 2008-09 sides overlap by more than a dozen players, so drawing both is close to drawing one squad twice — good if you want a settled XI, flat if you wanted variety. Ronaldo at 94 is the reason to hope for 2007-08 specifically.

Every Manchester United squad below can turn up when you spin the wheel — the highest-rated of them all is Cristiano Ronaldo (95), and the best XI these 4 squads could theoretically assemble averages 90.1. You don't get to pick: the wheel decides which squad you draft from, one pick at a time. That is the whole shape of it: you draft your own XI first, then find out what it was worth.
